TURNER Funeral services for W.A. Turner, aged 61, of Isle of Wight County, who died at a Norfolk hospital* were held March 28th at the grave in Isle of Wight County. Active pallbearers were: George Nurney, Sherman Horne, Bingley Barker, Sidney Murphy, Henly Manning and Wilbur Scott. Mr. Turner is survived by three brothers, C.F. Turner, A.D. Turner of Newport News and Ted Turner, of Isle of Wight; and two sisters, Mrs. J.W. Hall of Isle of Wight and Mrs. Walter Griffin of Windsor. (Rt. 652), 28 Mar 1937, "The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 18, No. 3, Apr. 1, 1937, p. 1, col. 7 *Additional information: There is a single granite monument, with 13 names, including the decedent & his parents, Andrew Jackson & Fannie Rachel (Jones) Turner; it gives William Armstrong Turner, 1876 - 1937. His WW-I draft registration also gives William Armstrong Turner. His D.Cert. (#8168 {Kempsville #68}) gives William Armstead Turner; the Norfolk Municipal Hospital was actually in Princess Anne Co.
