Turner, 69, died Thursday morning at 10:55 o'clock at his home in Smithfield. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ada Joyner Turner; a daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Crocker, of Smithfield; four sons, Letcher, of Isle of Wight; Russell and Elton, of Newport News, and Clinton, of Smithfield; a sister, Mrs. Frank Turner, of Zuni; two brothers, Charles H. Turner, of Franklin, and Richard Turner of Zuni, 18 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Central Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. L.F. Paulette. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pall bearers were nephews: Fletcher, Willie, Edward, Matthew, Charles and John Turner.
