She was born in Ivor, Va. on September 27, 1922. She graduated from Dendron High School. She then worked for A.E.S. Stephens of Smithfield and later for a Richmond law firm. In 1947 [sic; 1948*], Elizabeth married Frederick Booth Uzzle, a Richmond television reporter. Elizabeth and her husband lived in Arkansas City, AR; Raleigh, NC; Brunswick, GA and Jacksonville, FL. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Joseph Carroll Epps Sr. and Ogie Felts Epps; and two sisters, Clarice Epps Rollings of Surry and Eleanor Epps Cornwell of Ivor. She is survived by her children, Martha Jo Ann Bagley of Eagle Lake, TX and Ted Carlyle Uzzle of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Jon Kathreen Newman of St. Augustine, FL and great-granddaughter, Felicia Nicole Newman also of St. Augustine; two sisters, Roselyn Epps Moxley of Smithfield, Nancy Epps Bunn and her husband, Charles of Newsoms and a brother, Joseph Carroll Epps, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn of Wakefield. Memorial services were held in Jacksonville, FL and at Ivor United Methodist Church. Burial was held in Mill Swamp Cemetery. The family is being served in Virginia by R.W. Baker & Co.
