Melvin Uzzell 

  Windsor - Melvin McNeer Uzzell, 78, died Monday, April 29 in McGuire V.A. 
Hospital in Richmond. 

  A native of Isle of Wight County, Mr. Uzzell was a member of Suffolk 
Assembly of God, an army veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and former 
employee of Beale's Packing Co. in Courtland.  He was the son of the ['late 
Ocie J. and Clara Yerby Bland Uzzell' omitted] 

  Survivors include: one sister, Catherine U. Rife of Smithfield and several 
nieces and nephews. 

  Services were to be held at Purviance Funeral Chapel in Wakefield today at 
2 p.m with burial at Central Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
