UZZELL SMTTHFIELD - Ocie Uzzell, 64, died Sunday night in Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County and a deacon of Pine Grove Assembly of God Church. A retired farmer, he worked for Benthall Machinery Co. as a welder. He was a son of Ocie Otney* and Mrs. Clara Bland Uzzell. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eunice Holland Uzzell; four daughters, Mrs. E.T. Logan Jr. of Ivor, Mrs. Cecil Hayes of Hampton, Mrs. M. Van Smith of Suffolk and Mrs. Fred Jones of Waverly; two sons, Marvin Otney Uzzell of Charlottesville and James Edward Uzzell of Suffolk; three brothers, Melvin M. Uzzell of Wakefield, Letcher T. Uzzell of Newport News and W.J. Uzzell of Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Percy Rife of Smithfield and Mrs. G.W. Hargrave of Isle of Wight Court House; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Bullock Funeral Home by the Rev. Dana H. Spence, the Rev. Horace B. Jones and the Rev. Harry B. Christie. Burial will be in Central Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Ocie O. A lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late Ocie Otney* and Mrs Clara Bland Uzzell. A retired farmer, he was employed as a welder with the Benthall Machinery Co., Suffolk. He was a deacon in Pine Grove Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs Eunice Holland Uzzell; four daughters, Mrs. E.T. Logan Jr., Ivor, Mrs. Cecil Hayes, Hampton, Mrs. M. Van Smith, Suffolk, and Mrs. Fred Jones, Waverly; two sons, Marvin Otney Uzzell, Charlottesville, and James Edward Uzzell, Suffolk; three brothers, Melvin M. Uzzell, Wakefield, Letcher T. Uzzell, Newport News and W.J. Uzzell, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Percy S. Rife, Smithfield and Mrs. G.W. Hargrave, Isle of Wight, and 10 grandchildren. A funeral service will beheld at 2:30 pm Wednesday in the chapel of the Bullock Funeral Home, Smithfield, the Rev. Horace B. Jones, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, Surry, and the Rev. Harry B. Christie, pastor of Zuni Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Central Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Service Held Wednesday For Ocie Uzzell A funeral service was held Wednesday in Bullock Funeral Home, Smithfield, for Ocie Otney Uzzell, 64, who died Sunday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. He was the husband of Mrs. Eunice Holland Uzzell and son of the late Ocie Otney and Mrs. Clara Bland Uzzell. A retired farmer, Uzzell was employed as a welder in Suffolk. He was a member of the Pine Grove Assembly of God Church, Smithfield. The service was conducted by Rev. Dana H. Spence, pastor of Pine Grove Assembly, the Rev. Horace B. Jones, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, Surry, and the Rev. Harry B. Christie, pastor of Zuni Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Central Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Morrison Holland, Jasper Holland, David L. Jones, Charles H. Jones, Oliver Atkins, Wilbur Nelms, Donald Brothers and Roland Byrum. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. E.T.
