A native of Windsor, she was the widow of Roscoe Umphlet and a daughter of the late Jesse J. and Maggie Darden Babb. She was a member of the Colosse Baptist Church. She leaves a son, Joseph C. Umphlet of Portsmouth; a brother, B.A. Babb of Windsor; four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Services are to be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald E. Trump and the Rev. Riddick Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Robert Lee Umphlet in Windsor.
