A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of John L. Underwood. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen L. Stephenson of Portsmouth, Mrs. Major T. Manning, and Mrs. J. Wesley Hall of Smithfield; and two sons, John W. Underwood and Clarence J. Underwood of Windsor. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Turner of Hampton, and Mrs. Phenie Uzzell of Newport News, two brothers, J. Alvin Carr and Harry M. Carr, both of Windsor, 12 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held for Mrs. Underwood Mrs. Daisy Carr Underwood, 89, of Smithfield, died Tuesday in Portsmouth General Hospital, Portsmouth. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of John L. Underwood and the daughter of the late Darius W. and Mrs. Betty Thomas Carr. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church. Survivors include, 3 daughters, Mrs. Kathleen L. Stephenson, of Portsmouth, Mrs. Major T. Manning, Mrs. J. Wesley Hall, both of Smithfield, two sons, John W. Underwood and Clarence J. Underwood, both of Windsor, two sisters, Mrs. Rosa C. Turner, Hampton, and Mrs. Phenie C. Uzzell, of Newport News, two brothers, J. Alvin Carr, and Harry M. Carr, both of Windsor, also twelve grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. G. Arthur Knauer, Rev. George King and the Rev. Robert Wilkerson. Interment will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.H. Godwin, Channing R. Clements, Charles M.
