All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOHN EDWARD VAUGHAN John Edward Vaughan, 79, prominent citizen of Isle of Wight County, died Friday, April 28, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Junie E. Rose of the Beaver Dam community, with whom he had made his home since the death of his wife in 1920. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. W.H. Ballard and Mrs. Dempsey Watkins of Norfolk, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Rose Saturday afternoon by Mr. Vaughan’s pastor, Rev. W.B. Denson of Beaver Dam, assisted by Rev. J. Sidney Cobb of Windsor. The church choir sang "Abide With Me" and " Home of the Soul. Burial was made in the Windsor Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Jasper Daughtrey, L.F. Rawls, Jesse Johnson, W.T. Daughtrey, Jesse Carr, Reuben Bittle, J.L. Harcum and J.F. Rose.
