VELLINES DIES SUNDAY SOON AFTER HIS WEDDING Newport News, Aug. 4 - Funeral services for Casper Clinton Vellines, 54, widely known Peninsula building contractor, who died Sunday at his residence Riverwood, Warwick County less than eight hours after his wedding were held at 4 p.m. in the family cemetery in Isle of Wight County. Mr. Vellines had been in apparently good health up to the time of his death. At 6:30 p.m. Saturday he and Miss Helen W. Snyder, a Civil Service employee of the Hampton Roads port of embarkation, had been married at the home in an informal ceremony. Mrs. Vellines is the daughter of Mrs. Laura E. Wolf of Dayton, Ohio and had been a resident of the Peninsula since 1933. Mr. Vellines was born October 9, 1888 in Isle of Wight County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Vellines. He had lived in Newport News 46 years and had been in the contracting business since 1914. Death was attributed by his physician to angina pectoris.
