All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Robert Henry Webb Sr. Robert Henry Webb Sr., 79, of Windsor died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001 at Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk. He was born in Norfolk and was the son of the late Guy Leslie Webb and Iola Barrett Webb. He was raised in Isle of Wight County. A veteran of World War II, he was captured at Anzio and was held as a prisoner of war for 19 months in Germany. He served as service manager for Marchant-Smith Corona Office Machine Company in Norfolk. After retiring fron office machine work, he ran his own heating-air conditioning business and later drove a school bus for the City of Virginia Beach. He was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church, of the Shriners Norfolk Khedive Temple, the Arab Patrol, and a Master Mason of the Kempsville Lodge, the Virginia Beach Moose Lodge and the Norfolk V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Frances Webb; a daughter, Joan C. Beltrami; two sons, Carl W. Webb of Ivor and Dr. Robert H. Webb Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Sybil Lettich of Silver Spring, Md., Alice Jones of Isle of Wight County, Mattie Cardillo of Virginia Beach and Effie Taylor of Portsmouth. A funeral service was conducted Thursday, Aug. 23, at Antioch Christian Church in Windsor, with the Rev. Jarvis Hearn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
