He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie J. West; two daughters, Mrs. C.T. Boyette of Windsor and Mrs. T.E. Newsoms of Franklin; two sons, James E. West of Suffolk and Moody West of Holland; twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted for Mr. West on Sunday afternoon at three o’clock at the Hill Funeral Home in Suffolk, with the Rev. N.C. Clifton of Beaver Dam Church and the Rev. H.L. Foster of the Holland Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
