WILLIAM HENRY WEST 

DEATH OF WM. H. WEST 

  William Henry West, prominent farmer of Isle of Wight County, died on 
Saturday morning at the his home near Smithfield, aged 57 years.  He is 
survived by his wife, who was Miss Elizabeth Lankford; five children, 
William Thomas West, of Suffolk; Mrs. Leon Chapman, of Smithfield, and 
Earl H. West, Jesse West and James E. West of Isle of Wight County; 
seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Isle of Wight, 
and one brother, J.E. West, of Buckhorn, in Nansemond County.

  Funeral services were held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, of which Mr. 
West was a member, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, by the Rev. L.F. 
Paulette, pastor of Smithfield Baptist Church.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.
