White SMITHFIELD - Mrs. Margaret Bertha White, 78, Route 1, Smithfield, died Thursday in Portsmouth General Hospital. Mrs. White was born in Isle of Wight County and was a member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, James Nicholas White; a daughter, Mrs. Bertha W. Gardner of Suffolk; three sons, George T. White, James W. White and Otis S. White, all of Smithfield; a sister, Mrs. Mary Barlow of Suffolk, 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A funeral is to be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, with the Rev. Clark Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke's Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is in charge. Margaret Bertha (VELLINES; James N.)
