PROMINENT CITIZEN PASSES SUDDENLY 

Christopher C. White Passed Suddenly Away at Home Here 
- Death Shock to Many Friends 

  Mr. Christopher C. White, age 42 years, son of Mr. Walter V. White, of 
Hopewell, and late Mrs. White, died suddenly at his home here Monday evening 
at 7:45 after a very brief illness.  He is survived by his wife, step-
daughter, four brothers, L.P. and R.B. White, of Hopewell; G.C. White, of 
Carson, J.N. White, of Isle of Wight; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Everett, of 
Smithfield; and Mrs. A.M. White, of Hopewell, and a number of nieces and 
nephews.  Funeral services were held at his home conducted by Dr. Simpson and 
Mr. Sommerville.  Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers were, 
Dr. F.B. Simpson, A.A. Coleman, D.W. Chapman, J.R. Rowell, Richard Chapman 
and C.W. Brown.  There were numerous floral offerings.  He was a member of 
the Methodist Church here and also a member of the Maccabes in Suffolk.
