FUNERALS

  Robert Benjamin White - The funeral of Robert Benjamin White, who died 
Sunday night at 10:15 o'clock in his residence in Carrsville, took place 
Tuesday afternoon from the Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  The funeral was 
conducted by his pastor, Rev. George Pankey, assisted by Rev. Paulette of 
Holland, and burial was in the Beaver Dam Cemetery.  The honorary pallbearers 
were Dr. Gavin Rawls, Dr. C.J. Bradshaw, F.P. Saunders, J.F. Duke, J.H. 
Barrett, J.T. Duck, Robert Britt, J.J. Bradshaw, S.H. Pruden, Jasper 
Daughtrey, Junius Rose and Walter Bryant.  The active pallbearers were his 
six nephews, Robert White, Roger White, Marion Hall, Linwood Edwards, Tarpin 
Whitley and Clarence Whitley, and Demus Butler and Wood Campbell.

  Mr. White was 68 years old, and a highly esteemed merchant of Carrsville. 
He was a member of the Chuckatuck Lodge of Masons.  He is survived by his 
widow, who was before her marriage Miss Ida Holland, and two sisters, Mrs. 
R.E. Edwards, of Isle of Wight and Mrs. T.K. Bishop of Washington, D.C.
