A native of Rescue, he had retired as a waterman and from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a former member of Smithfield Union Masonic Lodge 18. Survivors include a sister, Carrie W. Schaefer of Rescue. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Revs. Donald Watkins and John F. Watkins. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery. The family will be at his sister's home.
