Watkins Dies After Illness Monday Night Mrs. Lizzie M. Watkins, 73, died at her residence in Isle of Wight County at 11:35 p.m. December 15 after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband W.H. Watkins, 2 sons J.R. Watkins of Louisville, Ky. and Leslie Watkins of Reno, Nev.; 2 sisters Mrs. Geo. Johnson, Mrs. Sarah Watkins; 4 brothers, Samuel Mountjoy, Walter Mountjoy, J.M. Mountjoy, and D.L. Mountjoy. Mrs. Watkins has lived in this community since her marriage 51 years ago. Funeral services were held at Roberts and Johnson's Funeral Home Wednesday, December 17, 1941 at 2:00 p.m. Services were conducted by Rev. L.F. Paulette, pastor of Smithfield Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Milton Watkins, Wilbur Mountjoy, Cecil Watkins, Ashton Mountjoy, Walter Mountjoy, Philip Murphy, Jackie Watkins and C.L. Mountjoy. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Burial was in Old St. Luke's Church Cemetery.
