W. H. Watkins, 83, Died Dec. 14th [sic; 13th] In Inglewood, Calif. 

  W.H. Watkins, 83, a native of Elizabeth City County, Virginia, died at a 
hospital in Inglewood, California, after an illness of several months. 

  Services were held at the Pierce Bros. Mortuary, 3443 W. Manchester 
Boulevard in Inglewood Thursday at 2 P.M. 

  Mr. Watkins resided for many years in Isle of Wight County and was engaged 
in the oyster packing business at Smithfield. 

  The deceased is survived by his wife, Dorothy Watkins of Inglewood, 
California; three sons, Bernard S. Griffin of Smithfield; Leslie Watkins of 
Los Angeles and J.R. Watkins of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Cornelia 
Jones, Mrs. Cassie Topping, both of Hampton; one brother, Johnnie Watkins of 
Rescue; several nieces and nephews, and nine grandchildren and 2 great 
grandchildren.
