Garland S. Whitley 

  WINDSOR - Garland Seward Whitley, 45, of Route 3, died Sunday.  He was a 
native of Isle of Wight County and the husband of Mrs. Sylvia Ellis Whitley 
and the son of the late Henry James and Mrs. Effie Braswell Whitley. 

  He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and Central Hill Hunt Club. 

  Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Glenda J. Whitley of Windsor; two 
stepdaughters, Miss Robin Johnson of Windsor and Mrs. Debbie J. Radford of 
Suffolk; two sons, G. Michael Whitley and Gerald C. Whitley of Windsor; two 
stepsons, Tommy Johnson of Windsor and Carl Johnson Jr. of Portsmouth; a 
brother, Stephen J. Whitley Jr. of Carrollton; and two grandchildren. 

  A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral 
Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Lindsey Poteat.  Burial will be in Antioch Church 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Garland S. Whitley 

  WINDSOR - Garland Seward Whitley, 45, of Route 3, died Sunday in Isle of 
Wight County. 

  He was a farmer and a member of Antioch Christian Church and the Central 
Hill Hunt Club. 

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Ellis Whitley; a daughter, Miss 
Glenda J. Whitley, and two sons, G. Michael and Gerald C. Whitley, all of 
Windsor; two stepdaughters, Miss Robin Johnson of Windsor and Mrs. Debbie J. 
Radford of Suffolk; two stepsons, Tommie Johnson of Windsor and Carl Johnson 
of Portsmouth; a brother, Stephen J. Whitley Jr. of Carrollton; and two 
grandchildren. 

  A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral 
Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. R. Lindsay Poteat. 

  Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery. 

  The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral 
home.

GARLAND SEWARD WHITLEY

   Windsor - A funeral service for Garland Seward Whitley, 45, was held 
Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. 
Lindsey Poteat.  Burial was in Antioch Church Cemetery.

   He died Sunday.

   Pallbearers were Jan Ellis, Cecil Bynum, William D. Berry, J. Marvin Harrell, 
Billy Wyatt, Kelly Nelms, Charlie Bradshaw and Cleveland Foster.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sylvia Ellis 
Whitley.
