Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. P.O. Moak, Jr., pastor of the Windsor Baptist Church. Burial will be in Central Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A member of the Windsor Baptist Church, he was the son of the late James Andrew Whitley and Alice Hart Whitley of Isle of Wight County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Hardy Whitley of the home; 5 sons, John Hardy Whitley of Charleston, W.Va., Henry J. Whitley, Emmett Massey Whitley and Dennis Gordon Whitley of Windsor, and Robert Irvin Whitley of Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. D.L. Boney of Suffolk; eight grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew. ****************************************************************************** James A. Whitley Is Buried Wednesday Funeral services for James Andrew Whitley, who died Monday, were conducted Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. T.O. Moak, Jr., pastor of Central Hill Baptist Church, and the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb, retired Baptist minister of Windsor. Burial was in Central Hill church cemetery. Mr. Moak read a poem entitled "Turn Again To Life." Mrs. A. Dunston Johnson sang "Good Night and Good Morning," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. J. Webb Pinner Jr. The casket was covered with a pall of white carnations, white stock and red roses. Pallbearers were Floyd Garrison, Frank Brown, Laine Gwaltney, Marvin Pulley, Frank Pulley. Garland Baughan, Russell Nelms and John R. Rose. ****************************************************************************** James A. Whitley WINDSOR - James Andrew Whitley, 60, retired merchant, died early Monday morning at Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, after short illness. He was a son of the late James Andrew and Alice Hart Whitley of Isle of Wight County.
