Edwin C. Thornton Jr., the Rev. Robert D. Fridley and Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery [sic*] with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Jerome Goodrich, Robert Rideout, Wayne Goodrich, Robert Simmons, Wayland Perry, George Whitley, Carlton Butler and Sam Butler. Mrs. Whitley, 76, died Monday in a hospital. She was the wife of Elvin H. Whitley and a daughter of Joseph and Mrs. Emma Duke Lankford. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, E. Harold Whitley Jr. and C. Roland Whitley, both of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Lucille L. Bradshaw of Carrsville; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Mary Lou (LANKFORD; Mrs. Elvin H.
