Robert Edward Whitley Sr. 

  WINDSOR - Robert Edward Whitley Sr., age 72, of Orbit Road, died Tuesday, 
April 27, 1993, at his residence. 

  Mr. Whitley, a native of Isle of Wight County, was a retired farmer.  He was 
a member of Woodland United Methodist Church, a member of Nansemond Masonic 
Lodge #77 A.F. and A.M. and the Central Hill Hunt Club. 

  Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Gale Whitley of Windsor; one son, 
Robert Edward Whitley Jr. of Smithfield; two granddaughters, Jessie M. Whitley 
and Gail D. Whitley, both of Franklin.

  Funeral services were held Thursday, April 29, 1993, at 2 p.m. in Colonial 
Funeral Home Chapel, Smithfield, with the Rev. Rob Vaughn and Rev. Ward Donat. 

  Burial was in Woodland Church Cemetery, Windsor. 

  Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, handled arrangements. 

  Pallbearers were David Whitley, Henry Stiltner, Ben Saunders, Francis 
Griffin, Jeryl White, James E. Crocker, Ronald Combs, and Pee Wee Fleetwood.
