He was a son of the late Leonard Hume Whitley and Mollie Turner Whitley, a member of the Providence Methodist Church and the King's Fork Ruritan Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sadie White Whitley of Providence Church; a half-sister, Mrs. J.M. Darden, of Suffolk; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock at the R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Starke Jett, the Rev. R.E. Brittle, and Dr. Duane N. Vore. Burial will take place in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Members of the King's Fork Ruritan Club have been requested to serve as honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** Whitley Rites Held Wednesday Funeral services for Millard Turpin Whitley, who died early Monday morning at his home near Providence Church, were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home. Officiating ministers were the Rev. Starke Jett, the Rev. R.E. Brittle and Dr. Duane N. Vore. Burial followed in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Dr. Vore read a poem during the services. The pall was of red roses, Easter lilies and baby's breath. Active pallbearers were George F. Whitley, Lee Beale, Trafton Whitley, Lincoln Peters, Frank Hall, Charlie Jordan, Gene Holloway and Presley Smith. Honorary pallbearers were members of the King's Fork Ruritan Club.
