All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Funeral Rites Friday For Mrs. Williford Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lee Turner Williford, 65, who died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon at 5:45 p.m. at her home, 118 Finney Avenue, will be held Friday afternoon at the Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. Ellis Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home until Friday at 2:15 p.m. at which time the funeral procession will leave for the church. She is survived by her husband, J.W. Williford, of Suffolk; five daughters, Mrs. E.L. Nelms, Mrs. Steve Robinson, both of Norfolk; Mrs. Farrow Lanier, of Franklin, Mrs. George L. Clark, of Richmond and Mrs. L.M. Duck, of Suffolk; two sons, Lieutenant John W. Williford, USAF, and William Robert Williford, of Tennessee; three sisters, Mrs. W.H. Ramsey and Mrs. A.A. Hedgepeth, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Susie Bell, of Deep Creek; a brother, L.T. Hattie's D.Cert. 13001 (Newport #4) gives daughter of George & Ella (TAYLOR) WALKER; the informant was her son Jesse GAY. Her father (1859 - 1922) was buried near Indika. (D.Cert. 15718 {Newport #9}) Annie's D.Cert. 5859 (Suffolk #3) gives her mother's maiden name as Hattie TAYLOR GAY; the informant was her widower. Joseph (1886 - 1961) is buried with his parents in Newman Memorial Cemetery, Oakland Christian Church, Chuckatuck. They m. 30 Jan 1924 in Windsor. Annie 1m. William Robert TURNER (1871 - 1941), 3 Jul 1907 in IoW.Co. Their m.rec. gives him as widowed, but he appears in the Census 1900-40 with his first wife, Ada (JOYNER) TURNER (1871 - 1951). They are buried in Central Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. {IWCHS GSSTF report #56} Ada's Find a Grave Memorial #105688754 gives Ada Turner (TURNER) GASKILL. Ada's second husband, John Henry "Harry" GASKILL (1881 - 1958), is buried in Denbigh Baptist Church, Newport News.
