Benjamin Wells, 33 

  Benjamin McCarley Wells, 33 of Gardena, Calif, died on May 22, in his home. 
He was a native of Isle of Wight County. 

  The son of Mr. and Mrs. Nollie L. Wells of Smithfield, he was employed as a 
pipefitter in Longdale, Calif. 

  He was a member of the Baptist Church, the Steam Fitters Local 250 Longdale, 
Calif. and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. 

  Besides his parents, he is survived by one son Benjamin McCarley Wells, Jr. 
of Gardena, Calif., 3 sisters, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Windsor, Mrs. Alice Joyner, 
of Smithfield and Mrs. Ellen Seymour of Chesapeake, two brothers Clyde M. 
Wells of Smithfield and Daniel L. Wells of Smithfield. 

  A funeral service was to be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Colonial Funeral 
Home, Smithfield by Rev. Warren F. Taylor and Dr. Rodney L. Bell.  Burial was 
in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were Franklin Wells, Carlton Earl Drewery, Ronnie Dale Drewery, 
John Lowe, Jr., Cecil Lowe, Leslie Puppey, Jr.
