She was the widow of John F. [sic; W.] Wells, life-long resident of Isle of Wight County and a member of the Mill Swamp Baptist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. J.H. Harris of Isle of Wight County, Mrs. J.L. Novak of Baltimore, Mrs. J.F. Peden of Ivor, Mrs. Jack Davis of Hopewell and Mrs. Irene Cross of Isle of Wight County; a brother, Sidney Hargrave of Smithfield; 47 grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bullock Funeral Home. The Rev. E.L. Holzbach and the Rev. Emory Trainham, pastor of Smithfleld Baptist Church, officiate at the services while interment will follow in the Mill Swamp Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Eliz. H. Wells Buried Tuesday At Mill Swamp Mrs. Elizabeth Hargrave Wells, 87, died at her home in Isle of Wight County Sunday morning after a short illness. She was the widow of the late John F. [W.] Wells and a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of the Mill Swamp Bapiist Church. Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. Irene Cross, Mrs. J.H. Harris, both of Isle of Wight; Mrs. J.L. Novak of Baltimore; Mrs. J.F. Peden, of Ivor; and Mrs. Jack Davis of Hopewell; one brother, Sidney Hargrave of Smithfield; forty- seven grandchildren and eighty-three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Bullock Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. L.E. Holzbach, pastor of Mill Swamp Church, assisted by Rev. Emory Trainham, pastor of the Smithfield Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Mill Swamp Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were H.M., J.F., T.W., R., W., L.B. and F.B Jones. Friends of the family acted as honorary pallbearers.
