Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial will be in the Uzzell Methodist Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County. Mrs. Wilson was employed by the Veterans Administration for 16 years, retiring in 1958 at which time she came to live with her sister, Mrs. Elsie Byrd Corbitt of Route 4, Nansemond County. A member of Bethlehem Christian Church, she was the daughter of the late John F. Uzzell and Elizabeth Atkins Uzzell of Nansemond County and was the widow of Jesse C. Wilson. Besides her sister, she is survived by four nephews, Fred H. Byrd and D.A. Gwaltney of Nansemond County, Lafayette Gwaltney of Chuckatuck, and Elton Gwaltney of Smithfield; two nieces, Mrs. Jack L. Bailey of Vacaville, Calif., and Mrs. Louise Adams of Norfolk, and 13 great-nieces and nephews. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held Thursday For Mrs. Wilson Funeral services for Mrs. Pocahontas Uzzell Wilson, who died Tuesday, were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial was in Uzzell's Methodist Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County. Miss Martha Brittle sang "Sleep In Jesus" and "Beyond The Sunset" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. William F. Whitley. The casket was covered with a pall of red roses, white carnations and baby's breath. Pallbearers were Lafayette Gwaltney, D.A. Gwaltney, Elton Gwaltney, Jordan Gardner, Vernie Byrd, Shadie Wilson, Harry Carr and Francis Gwaltney. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Jesse Wilson Buried July 14 At Uzzells Church Mrs. Pocahontas Uzzell Wilson, 63, retired employee of the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.
