All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ETHEL GAY WILLIAMS Mrs. Ethel Gay Williams, 49, wife of Charles Edward Williams of Windsor, died Wednesday, September 16, at her home near Windsor after a long illness. Mrs. William is the daughter of Eudora Howell Gay and the late N.B. Gay. She was a lifelong resident of Windsor community, a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church and the Loyal Woman's Class, both of which she took an active part until ill health prevented. Besides her husband, she is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Earl Gilbert, of St. Brides; Mrs. J.B. Saunders of Walters; Mrs. J.C. Bradshaw, Mrs. Arthur L. Duck, Misses Christine and Mary Ethel Williams of Windsor, and Miss Martha Lessie Williams of Carrsville; one son, Carlton Edwin of Windsor; her mother, Mrs. Edora Howell Gay; two sisters, Mrs. James F. Carr of Carrsville, and Miss Polly Gay of Walters, and five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from Mt. Carmel Church last Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the pastor, the Rev. T. Fred Wright. Mrs. Lofton Rhodes and Mrs. Guthrie Ballard sang "There's No Disappointment in Heaven" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." The pallbearers were: Otis V. Joyner, Willie Beale, J. Sherman Johnson, Taylor Holland, Hurley Gay, Lorenzo Bailey, Charlie Boyette and A.L. Livermon. Ethel (GAY; Mrs. Charles E.)
