Ward Dies From Accident William Thomas Ward, 25-year-old Isle of Wight County resident, was killed in a non-collision auomobile accident near Suffolk on Friday night. Ward was driving alone, accordng to State Trooper A.C. Chezik, on Route 32, south of Suffolk near Nurney's Siding, when the car left the road and went down an embankment just south of a bridge he had just crossed. The car was said to be a total loss. The young man was a son of Mrs. Lucille Ward Crumpler, of Carrollton and the late Mr. Ward. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Edwards Ward of Isle of Wight Courthouse; four sisters, Mrs. Lena May Johnson of Baltimore; Mrs. Juanita Mann, of Carrollton; Mrs. Elsie Murdell Edwards of Isle of Wight County, and Mrs. Philip L. Jones of Fort Worth, Texas; and three brothers, Hardy E. and J.B. Ward of Carrollton, and J.C. Ward of Hampton. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Benn's Methodist Church near Smithfield. Services were conducted by the Rev. E.B. Dean. Burial was in the Church cemetery. WARD family cemetery, Gates Co., NC. His widow 2m. Alvah Collins PERRY, 19 Mar 1954 (IoW.Co. #30); they div. She 3m. Carl Lee DEES, 15 Jun 1963 in Portsmouth; they div. in 1975. She 4m. Alvah Collins PERRY, 1978 in Pasquotank Co., NC.
