All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY ELIZABETH "BESSIE" BATTEN YEOMAN Mrs. Bessie Batten Yeoman, wife of Benjamin Yeoman of Isle of Wight County, died in a Newport News hospital Sunday. She was 52 years old. Survivors, besides her husband include four daughters, Misses Elizabeth, Lucy, Katherine and Margaret Yeoman; two sons, Wilson and George Yeoman; her mother, Mrs. Ida Batten, of Smithyfield; three sisters, Mrs. James P. Cox of Smithfield, Mrs. B.B. Briggs of Suffolk, and Mrs. Fred Dean, of Roanoke; two brothers, J. Allen Batten of Richmond, and Raymond N. Batten of Norfolk. Funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev. L.O. Wilbert conducting the service. Burial was in Old St. Luke's Cemetery.
