Will of Benjamin Beele, Sr., 1713 - Isle of Wight County, VA Isle of Wight Co., VA, Record of Wills, Deeds, Etc., Vol. 2, pp. 558-59 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets, line breaks, & surname capitalization mine] In the Name of God Amen I Benj:a BEEL of the Isle of Wight County in virginia being sick and weak in body but in pfect sence mind and memory do make this my last Will and testament in forme following Viz.t, First I bequeath my soul to God from whome I had itt: hoping through the Merritts of my lord and saviour Jesus Christ: to have a Joyful Resurrection att the last day and my body to the Earth from whence itt came to be decently interred: According to the discretion of my Ex.ex hereafter mentioned and as to what worldly Estate God of his Mercy hath Endowed me w.th after my debts legacies and funerall Charges be fully Expended and paid, I give and bequeath as followeth-: Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing wife Martha BEELE my Negro woman Tess[?] and her son Frank to be and Remaine with my said Wife during her Naturall life and after decease to my Son Benjamin and his heires and in Case my said Son die w.th out any heir of his Body lawfully begotten then to the Survivor or surviv's of my other Children-: Item I give unto my daughter Mary BEELE and her heires of her body lawfully Begotten, a Negro Girle Called Rose and in Case my said Daughter die without Issue then to survivor or surviv's of such my Children as aforesaid-: Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha and her heires of her Body one Negro Called Maria and in Case she dye w.th out Issue then to the Surviv'r or surviv's of such my Children as aforesaid-: Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Patience and the heires of her body lawfully begotten a feather bed and furniture and in Case She dye w.th out Issue then to the Survivor or surviv's of such my Children as aforesaid-: Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Florence one feather Bedd and furniture and to the heires of her body lawfully begotten for Ever and in Case She die w.th out Issue then to Come to the survivor or surviv's of such my Children as aforesaid-: Item I give to my Loveing wife Martha BEELE one feather bed and furniture-: [page break] Item I give and bequeath to my Son Benjamine one feather Bedd and furniture and in Case he die w.th out Issue then to the Surviv'r or Surviv's of my Children as aforesd-: Item I give and bequeath to my Son Benj:a my Pistolls houlsters & Sword-: Item My Will and Desire [is] that all the other Moveables w.th in doors be Equally divided between my Wife and Children-: Item I give and bequeath to my Loveing wife Martha the plantation I now Dwell on during her Naturall life and after her decease to my Son Benj:a and his heires of his Body Lawfully begotten-: Item I give to my Son Benjamine all the Remaining part of my land and to the heires of his Body Lawfully begotten for Ever: and in Case my said son die as aforesd: then the said land shall be divided between the surviv'r or Surviv's of my Children and theires [sic] heires-: Item My Will and desire is that my Son Benjamine shall have the priviledge of Enjoying all such legacies y.t [that] I have or shall leave him: Immediately after my decease-: Item My Will and desire is that all such stock of Cattle Horses ["and" struck out] Mares and Sheep w:ch are to be found belonging to me to be Equally divided between my Wife and Children-: Item My Will and Desire is that my aforesaid daughters have theire Legacies paid them when they come to the Age of Sixteen or Married-: And lastly I Comision and Apponit [sic] my loveing Wife Martha BEEL and my Son Benjamine BEEL to be Ex:r and Ex:ex of this my Last Will and Testament: In testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my [hand] and seal this 12th of Febu'ry 1712/13- Benj:a BEEL (Seal) BB his Mark Signed Sealed and delivered in the p'sence of Thomas DIXON Rich:d BEELE RB Sol HORNER John REVELL The last Will and testam:t of Benjamine BEELE was p'sented by the Ex:ex who made oath y're [there] to and being proved in Court by the Oaths of Thomas DIXON and John REVELL two of ye Wittnesses y:r to [thereto] is Admitted to Record: Test J:C: LIGHTFOOT Cl.Cur.
