Last Will and Testament of Charles Driver IN THE NAME OF GOD amen I Charles Driver of Newport parish In the County of Isle of Wight Being Very sick and weak of Body but of perfect Mind and Sound Judgement Do make and Ordain this my Last will and Testament in Manner and form Following: ITEM. I Give to my Loveing wife Keziah Driver the use of Three Negroes VIZ Peter, Isaac, & Binns During her Nathural Life. ITEM. I Give to my son William Driver and his Heirs forever Two Negroes VIZ Lewis and Eady ITEM I Give to my son Edward Driver and his Heirs Forever Two Negroes VIZ Primus & Sib. ITEM I Give to my Daughter Sarah Morrison, and her Heirs Forever Two Negroes VIZ Rose and Courtney. ITEM I Give to my Daughter Mary Driver and her Heirs forever Two Negroes VIZ George and Anecky ITEM I Give to my Daughter Jane Driver and her Heirs Forever Two Negroes VIZ Lidia, and Jim. ITEM I Give to my Daughter Nancy Driver and her Heirs forever Two Negroes VIZ Cusiba and Fillis. ITEM I also Give to my loving Wife Keziah Driver six Cows and One Yoke of Oxen and my Riding mare and Saddle and Three Feather Beds I also Give to my wife Twenty head hogs and Forty Barrells Corn During her Natural Life. ITEM my will and Desire is my Negroes Peter Isaac and Biner should be sold after the Death of my wife and the money Arising from the sale thereof should be Equally Divided Between all my Children. ITEM my will and Desire is my land and all the remainer Part of my Estate should be sold and the money Arising therefrom and all Debts due to me after Paying my just debts should be Equally Divided between my sons William Driver and Edward Driver and my Daughter Sarah Morrison, Mary Driver, Jane Driver Nancy Driver and I do Constitute and Appoint my Wife & James Morrison my Hole and sole Executors to this my last Will and Testament IN WITNESS whereof I have Hereunto Set my hand and affixed my seal this 3rd day of October 1784. SIGNED AND SEALED Charles Driver (SS) in presents of Thomas Wills John Broadfields John Butler At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 6th Day of January 1785. This Will was Presented in Court by Keziah Driver & James Morrison the Exors. Therein Named who made oath thereto according to law and the same being proved by the Oaths of Thomas Wills and John Broadfield two of the Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded. And on the motion of the said Executors who together with Thomas Wills & James Jordan their Securitys entered into and acknoweldged their Bond in the penalty of three thousand pounds with condition as the law directs Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probat thereof in due form.
