Morgan botaus@aol.com March 10, 2011, 1:42 pm Source: Isle Of Wight, Va Will Book 2 Pg 151 Written: January 19, 1723 Recorded: February 24, 1723 Will of Thomas Day Isle of Wight, VA Will Book 2 pg 151 Written 19 Jan 1723 Recorded 24 Feb 1723 I Thomas Day of upper parish of Isle of Wight County being at this sick & weake of body but perfect in memory thanks be to Almighty God therefore thought fit to make this my Last will & testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my sole to almighty God the maker & giver & secondly my body to earth to be decently buried & all my worldly goods I give as followeth Item I give & bequeath to my Aunt Elisabeth Lear my horse called Major Item I give & bequeath to my cuzon Thomas Day my plantation I now live on & all the land I bought of John Thomas. To him and the heirs of his body Lawfully begotten for ever but for want of such heirs To my cuzon James Ridley and the heirs of his body Lawfully begotten forever. I give to Sister Jones my Tee table & all the chaney (sic) there unto belonging after my just Debts & funeral charges is payd the rest of my Estate I give as following______ Item I give to my Brother James Day my Diamond ring I give to my Brother in law Mathew Jones my Gold Seal I give to my Brother in law William Bridger twenty shillings to buy him a morning ring I give to my Cuzon James Ridley my two negroes boyes George and Peter. All the rest of my Estate and negroes or what so ever or of what kind so ever of my Estate it is will & Desire that it be sold by my Executor hereafter mentioned for cash and to be Equally divided between the three daughters of Mathew Jones I also make nominate and appoint my trusty friend Mathew Jones to be my sole Executor of this my last will and testament as witness my hand and Seal this 19th Day of January 1723 Signed Sealed and oned (sic) to be the last will of Thomas Day {seal} Thomas Day in present of Joseph Seward Wm Bamer The mark "E" of Elizabeth Hodge At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 24th day of February 1723 The Last will and testament of Thomas Day was presented in Court by Mathew Jones, Gent.
