Microfilm Reel 25 [p.] 468 In the name of God Amen: I William ELEY of the Isle of Wight County being thro' the divine mercy now in perfect health memory & Senses do think fit to make this my last Will & Testament in the Manner [and] form following (Viz): Item I Give and bequeath unto my Sophia ELEY to take in those things called hers and the remaining part in what things may be Necessary for housekeeping or in Stock all at the Appraisment to her & her heirs forever. And the remaining part of my Estate both real and personal my will and desire is that my loving Wife Sarah ELEY may hold and Enjoy the same during her Natural Life with the profits thereof to support and Maintain her in a Comfortable manner but not to any other purpose Whatever my Will & Desire is that my Daughter aforesaid may have a free Liberty to Live with her Mother during her single Life and if my said Wife die before my Daughter Marrige that she may still Continue in my Manner 'till Marriage as aforesaid and at the Death of my Said Wife my Will and Desire is that all my Personal Estate and Negroes that may or shall then be my Executors shall Sell at Public Auction giving the rest of my Children timely Notice thereof and the money arising thereby to be Equally Divided into five parts one fifth I desire unto my Son William ELEY his heirs &c. One fifth I desire unto Daughter Sophia ELEY her heirs &c. One fifth I leave to be equally divided betwen the Children of my Daughter Prissciller COOK &c. One fifth I leave to be Equally Divided amongst the Children of my Daughter Martha BARROW &c. One fifth I leave to be Equally divided amongst the Children of my Daughter Doughtie HALL &c. My meaning is the Children that shall or may be at the time of my Decease.
