Will of Michael Fulgham, Sr., 1691 - Isle of Wight County, VA Isle of Wight Co., VA, Record of Wills, Deeds, Etc., Vol. 2, p. 307 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets, line breaks, & surname capitalization mine] In the Name of God Amen: I Michaell FULGHAM beinge Sicke and weake of body but of Sound and perfect memory doe make this my last Will and Testament: Imp:mis I give and bequeath my Soul unto the almighty God in whom I putt my trust hoping for Eternal Salvation and my body I bequeath unto the Earth to be buried in a Christian like Maner: as for my worldly Estate I give and bequeath as followeth: Second:ly I give unto my Sonne Anthony FULGHAM: this plantation whereon I now dwell and his heirs lawfully begotten and I give unto my Sonne Michael FULGHAM the plantation whereon in William BALDWIN now liveth and his heirs lawfully begotten: and if Either of these my Sonns should dye without Issue, then to returne to the Survivor and theirs heirs: alsoe my Will is that my loving wife Anne FULGHAM may hould and enjoy ye Said plantation duringe the tyme of her Widdowhood and if She maries then the rent of the plantation whereon William BALDWIN liveth to goe towards the scoolinge of my youngest Children and I give unto my daughter Sarah FULGHAM: one hundred acres of land: Joyninge Uppon her Sister Mathe FULGHAM land and her heirs lawfully begotten: and for the remainder of Land, I give my daughter Mary: Ann: Susanna: and Ruth to be Equally devided: and to their heirs lawfully begotten: and if Either of them dies without Issue then to returne to the Survivors, they having Liberty to make Sale on to another: and my Will is that the Mill my Brother Nicholas FULGHAM and I am Joyned in buildinge, when all Charges are paid and the Mill Clered herselfe: then my part of the profits to goe towards the scoolinge and bringinge up my Children and to remaine in my wife's Custody untill my Sone Anthony and Michaell FULGHAM Cometh of age unto whome I doe give my part of his the said Mill to be devided when they Come. age to them and theire heirs lawfully begotten, and if defect in Either then to returne to the Surviyvor: only my Wife and daughters to have theire bread Corne ground towle [toll] free Soe longe as they doe live: alsoe my Will is that my Gunn Carbine Rapier pistolls and holsters: be to purchase a Mare or Mares to Run and her or theire Encrease Equally amongst my Children and for the rest of my Estate: I leave wholly to the disposinge of my loveinge wife, Anne FULGHAM: during the tyme of Widdowhood: and if Shee Maries the a divission to be made betwene her and my Children Equally and I doe make my deare and lovinge wife Anne FULGHAM my whole and Sole Executrix: and my Will is that my welbeloved brothers John FULGHAM and Nicholas FULGHAM may See this my last Will and Testament performed. as wittnesse my hand and Seal this 17th of feb.y 1690/1.
