Devised February 19, 1714/15, Proven April 25, 1715. In the Name of God amen I Reubin Gledhill of the Isle of Wight County in Virginia being Sick and weake of Body but of perfect Sence and memory praised be God for itt do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say first and principally I Recommend my Soul To God who gave itt hoping & Stedfastly believing through the medeation & Intercession of my Blessed Saviour & Redeemer or Jesus Christ to obtain free pardon & Remission of my Sins and my body To the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Execrs here after named and for what worldly Estate it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose of the Same as followeth after my Just debts and funurall Charges and paid. Imprimis I give & bequeath unto my loving Sister Mary Atkinson one Iron pott with one Legg Broke of Item I give and bequeath to Mary Edwards for Sattisfaction for her trouble Chare & Care that Shee has had and been att for me one Black walnut Table one Settle Bed Stead & Brass Kettle Conteyning a bout ten Gallons one pewter Quart Tankard and four Eues and lambs and it is my will that Shee have her first Choise out of all my Sheep. Item I Give and bequeath unto Ann Chapman one Eue lamb. Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Brother William Gledhill my Riding horse Bridle Saddle pistoll & holster & Sword my Great Looking Glass my Silver tankard the feather Bed and furniture I Used to lye on one Couch halfe a Douzn of Chaires. Item I give & bequeath unto my loving Brother William Gledhill and my Loving friend Joseph Chapman all the Rest and Remaining part of my plate both real & personall Equally to be Divided between them And I doe make and ordain them to be Extrs of this my Will and Testament & Revoking and making null and Void all former Wills by me made and Declaring this to be my last Will in Testimony Whereof I have here unto Sett my hand & Seal the 19th day of ffebr 1714/15.
