Will of Thomas Gross, 1675 - Isle of Wight County, VA

I: Thomas GROSS beinge Sicke & Weake in body, but in pfectt Sence & Memorie, I doe make this my 
last Will & Testament:  In the Name of God Amen:
Item  I will & bequeath my Soule to God, who gave it mee, & my body to the Earth, from Whence 
it Came,
Item  I will & bequeath Unto my Eldest Sonne, William GROSS, & to my youngest Sonn francis 
GROSS; a pcell of land, Wh I now live Uppon on the westward Side of the Swamp, that runns by my 
orchard; Fence Side, w.th the housing & orchard belonginge Unto it, To them & theire heires 
forever;
Item  I will & bequeath, Unto my Sonne Thomas GROSSE a pcell of land Wh lieth on the other Side
of the Swamp Unto him & his heires forever;
And if either of my Sonnes dye, without Issue, his part,to be Equally devided, the other two;
Item  I will & bequeath Unto my Eldest Sonne W:m GROSS, two heiffers, of two yeares old; one 
black & White, & the other red & White one m'ked
Item  I will & bequeath, Unto my Sonne Tho: GROSS; one redd Cowe, & one blacke & White heiffer 
& one redd Steer about two or three years of Age;
Item  I will & bequeath, Unto my youngest Sonne Francis, GROSE one Cowe, Wh is Named Starr; & 
one redd heiffer, of two years old;
Item  I will & bequeath, Unto my Eldest daughter, Susana GROSE one Silver Spoone;
Item  I will & bequeath, Unto my youngest daughter; Mary GROSE, a gould ringe, & two pewter 
dishes and one pewter Basen;
Item  I will & bequeath: Unto my deare & lo: wife Susana GROSE, the thirds of my land; for her 
life, & the rest of my estate; payinge my debts; & I doe make my deare & lo: Wife, my Executrix 
& Administrator to this my last Will & Testam:t as Witts my hand this 27th of february 1674.
