ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA - WILLS - Hannah Haile, 19 Apr 1799 ----¤¤¤---- From Isle of Wight County, Will Book No 11 1796-1804, pg 205-206: To all to whom these presents may come, Know ye that I Hannah Haile of Isle of Wight County being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God, do make this my Last Will and Testament. That is to say I give and bequeath unto my son Simon Haile my Bed and Furniture (to wit) one Rug and sheet, also one Virginia gown and to his Daughter Olive Haile I give one small trunk-- Item, I give and bequeath unto my niece Lavina Bracey one chest one new sheet pillow and petticoat also of my wearing apparel one blue callimanco (calico) gown and striped cotton ditto, one black silk handkerchief, black furred hat, white linen apron and new cloth coat and checkered shirt-- I also give to my Daughter Daisey Smith one pane quilt, one checkered shirt, first choice three Virginia gowns, one linen apron and my weaving loom-- I also give to my Son William Hatchel one striped cotton gown and my black Bonnet; I give to my Step Daughter Molly Harris one cotton gown--- Item, it is my Will and desire that the residual of my Estate consisting of Cattle, Hogs and as well every other part of my Estate not herein before mentioned should be equally divided (after paying my just debts and other expenses that may hereafter accrue) between my Son William Hatchel and my Daughter Daisey Smith: In witness whereof I the above mentioned Hannah Haile have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this nineteenth day of April and in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Nine ------ Hannah (her mark) Haile {Seal} Signed Sealed & Delivered in the presence of us -- James Downing Thomas (his mark) Boldes At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 3rd day of June 1799.
