The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Isle of Wight Co., VA, Will Book 23 (1844-1847), pp. 272-73 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets, line breaks & surname capitalization mine] Know all men by these presents, that I Nancy JOHNSON of the County of Isle of Wight and State of Virginia do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form as follows (Viz:) Item 1.st It is my will and desire that all my Just debts and funeral expenses be first paid off by my executor hereafter named- Item 2.nd It is my will and desire after the first Clause of this Will is complyed with by my executor aforesaid I give to my mother Nancy JOHNSON one half of my estate both real and personal to her and her heirs forever. Item 3.rd It is my will and desire after my mother Nancy JOHNSON takes one half of my estate that the other half be divided in two moieties as follows- Item 4.th I give to my niece Mary A. WATKINS daughter of Dempsey D. WATKINS one forth of my estate both real and personal to her and her heirs forever. Item 5.th It is my will and desire & I give the other remaining forth of my estate both real and personal to my niece Calumbus WATKINS daughter of John R. WATKINS to her and her heirs forever. Item 6.th And lastly I do hereby nominate and Appoint my friend and brothering [sic] in law Dempsey D. WATKINS the whole and sole executor to this my last will and testament revoking and making Void of all other wills heretofore made by me.
