In the name of God Amen:  I Rebecca JOHNSON of Isle of Wight County being week 
in Body but of sence & perfect memory praise be given to God for the same: and 
calling to mind the mortality of my body: and that it is appointed for all 
Women to die I do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in 
manner and form as following 
Verse  first and principally I commit my Sole into the hands of Almighty God 
my Creator and Saviour Christ Jesus and my Body to the Earth whence it was 
taken to be buryed in such decent and Christian like manner as to my Executor 
hereafter named shall seem fit and as touching such worldly Estates wherewith 
it hath pleased the Almighty God of his most gracious and bountious mercy to 
bestow on me in this life: I give as followeth: that is to say- 
imprimis:  my Will and desire is that all such debts and dues and demands as I 
owe in right of Consciences to any Person or persons whatsoever be well and 
truly paid by my Executor hereafter named with in convenient time after my 
decease:-  
Item  I give unto my son James JOHNSON my two Negroes Coffy & Tom and one 
Shilling sterling out of my moveable Estate and no more: 
[Item]  I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth SIMONS one Shilling sterling out of 
my moveable Estate and no more. 
[Item]  I give unto my Daughter Rebecca FULGHAM one shilling sterling out of 
my moveable estate and no more. 
[Item]  I give unto my son Henry JOHNSON one Iron Pott holding about six 
Gallons out of my moveable estate and no more. 
[Item]  I give unto my son Stephen JOHNSON one shilling sterling out of my 
moveable estate and no more. 
[Item]  I give unto my Daughter Mary COGGAN one shilling sterling out of my 
moveable estate and no more. 
[Item]  I give unto my Daughter Ann BARNES one Shilling sterling out of my 
moveable estate and no more. 
[Item]  I give unto my two sons Barnaby JOHNSON and Joshua JOHNSON all the 
rest of my moveable estate with in Doors and without doors to be equally 
devided between them as two honest men thinks fit. 
[Item]  I do hereby revoke and disanull and make void all other Wills 
Testaments and legasies by me heretofore made and do declare this and no other 
to be my last Will & Testament and lastly I do

hereby nominate and appoint my two sons Barnaby JOHNSON and Joshua JOHNSON my 
Executors of this my last Will and Testament. 
In Witness whereof I have sett my hand this 25.th Day of June in the Year of 
our Lord God 1763

by Barnaby JOHNSON and Joshua JOHNSON the ex'ors therein named who made Oath 
thereto and being proved by the oath of Hardy DARDEN and John DARDEN two of 
the Witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded:
