ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA - WILLS - Michael JOHNSON, 19 Feb 1800 ----¤¤¤---- [p.] 283 [margin note] Mich.a JOHNSON's} Will } In the Name of God Amen I Michael JOHNSON of the Isle of Wight County being now in good sound and perfect sense and memory blessed be god but caling to mind the uncertainty of this frail life and that it is appointed for all Flesh to die I therefore do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth - Item I give and bequeath to my Son Jacob JOHNSON all the land that I bought of John BATON joining Black water and King sail swamp and the two Acres of Land opposite the mouth of King sale swamp as I bought of Samuel BROWN also the five Negroes that I formerly let him have (namely) Hager, Sam, Patience, Cherry and Calia, to him and his heirs forever likewise the sein unpon his discharging the balance due concerning the sein place - Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Jemima ELEY the Negroes that I formerly let her have and her heirs forever ~ [sic] (namely) Tamor, and Beck, and I also give her one Negro Boy Isaac to her and her heirs forever - Item I give and bequeath to my son Elias JOHNSON the Plantation whereon I now live and all the land thereunto belonging and five Negroes (namely) Giney, Lear, Abram, and Tom, and Cherry; also one third part of the Household furniture and likewise ont third part of the Stock of Cattle hogs and Sheep to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth BUTLER the two Negroes that I formerly let her have namely, Rose and Nancy, to her and her Heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sally JOHNSON to [sic] Negro's namely Charlotte and Barsh also one feather bed and furniture one Pine chest one Cow and yearling to her and her heirs forever - Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Priscilla JOHNSON two Negroes namely Patt and Eady one Feather bed and Furniture one Pine chest and a Horse called Jones and a Heifer to her and her heirs forever.
