Will of William JOHNSON, Sr., 1804 - Isle of Wight County, VA Isle of Wight Co., VA, Will Book 12 (1804-1808), pp. 53-54 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets, line breaks & surname capitalization mine] [margin note] [Wm.] JOHNSONs Will In the name of God amen I William JOHNSON of Isle of wight County being in perfect mind and memory, thanks be to almighty God for the same do make and ordain the foling [sic] to be my last will & Testament in manner & form following Viz.t Item I do give & bequeath to my Son John JOHNSON the lands & plantation of mine on the north Side of Lawrences Branch with all the personal estate thereon to him & his heirs forever; Item I do give and bequeath to my Son William JOHNSON the land & plantation on the south side of Lawrence's Branch of mine with all the personal estate thereon to him & his heirs forever; Item I do Give & bequeath unto my three Daughter named as following Viz.t Elizabeth JOHNSON, Mary JOHNSON Ann JOHNSON five pounds Silver money to them each of them five pounds to be paid by my two sons John & William JOHNSON, my will & desire is that if either of my Sons that has land so giving Should die without heir lawfully begotten of their body that the other liveing should have the whole possession thereon; Item I Give to my Grand Child Delilah JOHNSON five Shillings Sterling to her & her heirs forever; Item I Give & bequeath to my Grand Child February [page break] [p] 54 JOHNSON five Shillings Sterling to her & her heirs forever; Item I do Appoint my S [sic] John JOHNSON my whole & sole executor to this my last will and testament, disanuling all and every will or wills, claims; writings or demands against this my last will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 12.th day of September 1799 William JOHNSON + his mark Tho.s JOHNSON Jesse WHITEHEAD Green POWELL Matthew CARR + his mark At a Court held for Isle of wight County the 1.st day of October 1804.
