Isle of Wight County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Wills Mitchum PEIRCE [PIERCE], will, 1842 ~ 1849 Mitchum PEIRCE estate, account of sales, 1849 Mitchum PEIRCE estate, account current, 1850 In the name of God Amen I Mitchum Peirce of the county of Isle of Wight and state of Virginia being afflicted tho' of sound memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form (Viz). 1.st I give and bequeath to my loving wife Sally Peirce all my property both real and personal her natural life after paying my just debts. 2.nd It is my will and desire that at the death of my wife Sally Peirce, that my land or lands should be rented out to support and educate my three youngest daughters, Martha, Rebecca and Sarah Peirce. 3.rd It is my will and desire that when my youngest daughter Sarah Peirce arrives to the age of Twenty one - that all my land should be equally divided between my three daughters (viz) Martha, Rebecca & Sarah Peirce to be to them and their heirs forever. 4.th It is my desire that if my oldest daughter Martha Peirce should die without a lawful heir of her body that the land that the land [sic] that I give to her should be equally divided between my two younger daughters Rebecca and Sarah Peirce to them and their heirs forever. 5.th It is my desire that if my daughter Rebecca Peirce should die and leave no issue of her body lawfully begotten that the land I give her should be equally divided between my two daughters Martha and Sarah Peirce to them their heirs forever. 6.th It is my will and desire that if my daughter Sarah Peirce should die leaving no lawful begotten heir of her body that the land that I give her should be divided between my two surviving daughters Martha and Rebecca Peirce. 7th It is my will and desire that if my three younger daughters should chance to die without a lawful heir of their body then in that care the land that I give them should be equally divided between my older children Thomas Peirce [large blank spot on rest of line] 8.th It is my wish and desire that at the death of my wife Sally Peirce that all and singular my chattle estate should be equally divided between my children Thomas Peirce, Martha Peirce, Rebecca Peirce and Sally Peirce to them and their heirs forever, 9.th It is my desire that my son Patrick Peirce receive from my estate the sum of one Dollar to him and his heirs forever,. 10.th I hereby appoint my wife Sally Peirce my Executor to this my last will and testament, revoking all other wills by me made, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 27.th day of Dec.r in the year of our Lord 1842, in the presence of us his Mitchum Peirce *seal* Nathan (X) Mountfortt mark Merit Hall Meredith H.
