     Peter PIERCE [Sr.], will, 1771 (1772)

   In the Name of God  Amen, I Peter Pierce of the County of Isle of Wight in 
Virginia being Sick and Weak but of Sound Mind & perfect Memory do make 
["and ordain to be" inserted] this my Last Will & Testament in Manner & form 
as followeth ~ 

   I lend bequeath to my Son William Pierce's his life twenty five Acres of 
Land Beginning at Small pine at the foot of Cooks' Path, 
Running the Chappel Road to Cooks line joining Daniel Herrings Line 
   I also  give to my Son Peter Pierce and Bennet Pierce the rest of my Land 
to be equally divided between them both 
   I also give Unto my Son Peter Pierce one great Iron pot  the pot hooks & 
Racks, and I also  give one Set of Iron Wedges  one feather Bed and Furniture 
after my Wife's deceased _ 
   I also  give unto my Son Bennet Pierce one Iron pen[?] & spit. 
   I also  give to my Daughter Elizabeth Pierce one feather Bed and Furniture 
also four Plates, two Basons & one Dish, one flesh fork and two small chests 
after my Wife's dece.d 
   I do further Appoint my Son Peter Pierce my Sole Executor of this my last 
Will and Testament and I do Revoke all former Wills and I do Establish this to 
be my last Will & Testament 
in Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal 
this 3 day May 1771.

6.th day of august 1772  This Will was presented into Court by Peter 
Pierce the Executor therein Named who made Oath thereto 
according to Law and the Same being proved by the Oaths

of John Little & John Gay two of the Witnesses thereto & 
ordered to be Recorded, And on the Motion of the Said Executor 
together with David and John Little his Securities entered 
into Bond in the penalty of five hundred Pounds with 
Condition  as the Law directs, certificate is granted 
him for obtaining a Probat thereof in due Form
