I Thomas Tynes of the County of Isle of Wight being in perfect Sense and Memory but calling unto Mind the uncertainty of this Life and Considering that it is appointed for all men to Die I have thought propper to make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth. First it is my Will and desire that my Debts and Funeral expences should be paid. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my loving Wife and my Daughter Mary Tynes the use of my Chamber as long as they bear my Name. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my loving Wife Two Negroes Cesar and Voan to her and her Disposial. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my son West Tynes Four Negroes, Frank, Peter, Priss, and Grace one Round Cedar Table one Bed and Bedstead three Walnut Chairs, one large Pine Chest -- Two Sows, one Mare called Dement one pair Spoon Moles, and one Black Walnut Desk, and one Cow, one Round Maple Table and that pewter he has and one pot. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son West Tynes Three Hundred Acres of land lying in Southampton County. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas Tynes Four Negroes Rose, Dick, Beck, and James and one Bed one High Cedar Bedstead, one High Cedar Table, one Cedar Chest, three high Cedar Chairs, one Desk, two Sows, one Mare called Flower and one Cow and Four Sheep. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas Tynes the plantation I now live on from a Corner tree of Rands to the Branch and the Branch to be the line between my Son Thomas and my son Benjamin Item Tynes. [sic] I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Benjamin Tynes five Negroes John, Tipo, Sam, Simon, and Job, one Cubbard one Bed and Bedstead, and one Walnut Table one pine Chest three Maple Chairs, four Sheep two Sows one Sealskin Trunk, one Horse called Major, and one Cow, one Maple Desk. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Benjamin Tynes the plantation as I purchased of George Bon. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Tynes three Negroes Philis, Fanny and George, one Bed one Gum Chest one Pine Table three Maple Chairs, one Loom, one Spinning Wheel, four Sheep two Sows, one Boxiron and Heaters, and one Cow. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son in Law John Lawrence five Shillings. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son in Law Jephtha Mington five Shillings. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my two Sons Thomas and Benjamin Tynes my still and hand Mill. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Holland Lawrence one Chest which her Father has. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my loving Wife all the rest of my Estate to her and her disposial and I do appoint my Son West Tynes and my Wife my whole and Sole Executors to this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my Seal, this 14th day of October one thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Nine.
