Devised June 4, 1729, Registered November 24, 1729. In the name of God Amen, I Katherine Wiggs of the County of Isle of Wight in Virginia being in a very sick and weak Condition but I thank my God in perfect Sense and memory I Do make this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form as followeth. First I recommend my poor Soul unto the Almighty God my maker and Creator hoping for to Enjoy Everlasting peace and happiness at the parting this life hence and desire that my body may be decently buried by my Deceased Husband by my Execr Discretion and in the next place I Dispose of my Worldly Estate that it hath pleased God for to bless me with in this world in this manner and form as followeth. Viz. I Give and bequeath all my Lands as and after the Same manner as my Deceased husband hath Henry Wiggs given it in his Last Will that is to Say. To my Two Sons William and George Wiggs and their heires Best if that it should please God that Either of my Two Sons Should Die without Heir or Heires of their body then for their parts to fall or redeem to my Son Luke Wiggs and the Heirs of his Body forever. Item, I Give and bequeath unto my Son William Wiggs one Negro Woman Called Sarah to him and his Heires forever. Also I give to my Son William Wiggs all that whole Sum of money that he owes me for my part of the Mill, I mean all that is still unpaid to me I freely Give unto him and also I Give him two cows at the fole and Two Swarms of my Bees and Three Geese and a Gander and for to have the Third part of all my Cider cask and I Do forbid his having the Negro woman untill the Crop that is now on my Plantation is fully finished nor that he shall not anyways hinder my son Luke Wiggs from making the Crop or keeping my house or houseroom from until the Crop be fully finish nor not for to hinder Luke Wiggs from making juice of the apples for Cider. I also give unto my son William Wiggs my Long Table and ____ which stand in the Hall. Item, I Do give unto my Son George Wiggs my Negro boy Dick to him and his Heires forever. I Do also Give my son George a feather bed and furniture that belongs to it. Item, I Give unto my Son Luke Wiggs my Negro Boy Tom to him and his Heires forever. And it is my Will that this Negro boy shall suck his Mother's Breast till that he be fit for to be weaned. Item, I Give unto my Daughter Sarah Wiggs my Negro Girl Nan and all her increase I said I Give the said Negro to her and her Heires forever. I Do also Give my Daughter Sarah Wiggs my Negro man Peter During her natural life or as Long as She Shall live unmarried and after her death or marriage then to my Two Sons I say in this manner George Wiggs and Luke Wiggs for to have sd Negro man in equal proportion ahole part as he may be vallued or worth at that time. I Do also give unto my Daughter Sarah Wiggs Two feather Beds which said Beds Stands &c Upon my Inward Chamber with all Covering that belongeth to the said Beds and Curtins & Vallins Bedsteds and Cords every thing that belongeth to the Two Beds and Two pair of Sheats to Each of the Beds more than is on them. I do also give to my Daughter Sarah Wiggs my Garden Still or Her C Still as it may be Called and all my new pewter That I bought last year that is in the year 1728 and my Bole mettle Spice Morter and Pessle and my Warming pan and a Box Iron and Heaters and my Chest and all my money and all my wearing Clothes or Apparell both Woolen or Linen of what __ soever and my Horse and Side Saddle and all my Share or part of the Crop that is __ upon the plantation this year both of Corn or Tobacco or any other Groth or profit of the said plantation that may or shall be made or Grow upon my plantation this year by my Son Luke Wiggs and my Two Negroes made be it in what kind soever. And that my Son William Wiggs is not for to have any property in the said plantation while this Crop be finish. I also Give unto my Daughter Sarah Wiggs Two Young Barrows and all my Table Linnen and my Two large Stone Juggs which I bought of Benjamin Chapman. I also Give my Daughter Sarah in full of what I owe her on Account of her father Will my Great Bin Kettle & my Distill pott and a Small pott and the third part of all my Stone ware and Earthen Ware & Glass Bottles and the other two parts to my son George and Luke Wiggs. I give my Daughter Sarah my Two Books Called Culpeppers and the Servant maid and five Old Swarms of my Bees. Item, I Give unto my Daughter Katherine Stevenson One new Callico Apron. Item, I Give unto my Daughter Mary Brett Two Geese. Item, I Give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Brasey Two Geese. Item, I Give all the rest of my Estate be it in what kind or quality whatever for to be Equally Divided Between my Two Sons that is George and Luke Wiggs. Item, I Do also Constitute and make and Appoint my Son George Wiggs for to be my whole and Sole Exr of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other former Wills made or Signed by me whereunto for Confirmation I Set my hand & fix my Seal this the 4 Day of June in 1729.
