Devised June 7, 1712. Probated [No Date Given]. In the Name of God Amen, I, Robert West of Isle of Wight County being sick and weak in body but praise God in perfect sense and memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament revoking all Wills by me made or written before this. First, I bequeath my soul to God hoping through Christ Jesus to receive pardon for my sins and my body after this life to be buried in a decent manner according to the discretion of my Executor and as for what worldly goods God hath endowed me with, I give as followeth. First, I give unto my son Henry West my plantation where I formerly lived called the brick house plantation, together with a tract of land at Round Hill bounding on the lands of William Westray. I give to my loving wife Isabellah one hundred acres of land lying on the South side of Nottoway River where she now lives during her life, and after her death to my son Joseph and heirs, and if he dies without heirs, then I give the said land to my son Arthur West. Item, I give to my son Robert West all the remaining part of my entry adjoining upon the Reedy Marsh to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give to my son William West 100 acres of land lying on the South side of Meherrin path to him and his heirs forever, and if he dies without heirs, then to my son Arthur my Executor hereafter named. I do ____ to survey and patent the land given to my sons and to pay the charges out of my estate likewise. I do order that my son Henry West shall have the land, and what I give to him to be delivered to him at the age of sixteen. I give to Thomas Green one cow and calf to be paid to him at the age of sixteen. I give to my loving wife half my movable estate, and the other half to my children to be equally divided between them as they shall attain to age or marry, and I do appoint my loving wife Isabella to be my Executrix to see this my will performed.
