ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA - WILLS - John Wrenn, 19 Jan 1786 ----¤¤¤---- Isle of Wight Co. VA Deed Book 15, pgs 246-248 FHLC #32008 In the name of God Amen I John Wrenn of Newport and Parish of the County of Isle of Wight being very Sick and weak but in perfect mind and Memory do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in the manner & form following to Wit --- Item, I give and bequeath to my Son John Wrenn my two Negroes Jack and little Be? and her Increase my Still Cap and Worm Gun and ????? five pounds to be putt out to Interest untill my Son John comes of Age or Married to him & his heirs forever Item I do give and bequeath unto my Daughter Martha Wrenn my two Negroes Sharper & Ch??lot and her increase and twenty five pounds to be put out to Interest untill my Daughter comes of Age or Married to her and her heirs forever --- Item it is my will and desire that my Wife may enjoy my two Negroes Frank and Bet and her increase during her Life and at her Death to be equally divided between my two Sons James Wrenn and Joseph Wrenn to them and their Heirs forever. Item, it is my Will and desire my two Sons James & Joseph Wrenn to enjoy my four Negroes David, Milly and her increase Bob and Jacob unto they come of Age or Married also fifty Pounds to be Divided between the said James and Joseph to them & their heirs forever, and it is my further Will and desire the profits arising may be applied towards Schooling & maintaining the said James and Joseph until they come to the Age of Sixteen & then to be bound out to some Trade as my Exors: hereafter named shall think proper It is my further Will & desire that my houshold Goods Kitchen furniture and utensils may Remain unsold untill my two Children Martha & John comes of Age or Married and then to be equally Divided between my Wife Tabitha Wrenn and four Children Martha, John, James & Joseph part to be sold & the Money arising therefrom to be applied as I have mentioned above Item it is my Will and desire Twenty Head of Cattle & the Yoke of Oxen & twenty Head of Sheep & twenty Head of Hogs and two Horses to remain on the Plantation untill my two Children Martha and John Come to the Age of twenty One Years or Married then to be equally Divided between my Wife Tabitha Wrenn & four Children Martha, John, James, & Joseph & the parts of James & Joseph to be Sold and the Money Arising therefrom to be applied as I have herein Mentioned, it is my Will & desire that all the Rest of my Stock may be Sold by my Executors hereafter Item it is my Will and desire that if either of my formersaid Children Martha Wrenn John Wrenn James Wrenn Joseph Wrenn should Die before they come to the Age of Twenty one Years as Abovesaid then their part or Share of any Estate herein given to be equally divided between my Surviving Children as their ??p???ntion ------- -------------- Item, I give and bequeath unto Martha Bidgood one Bed Straped with white and Copperas and blue Yarn bed Quilt & five pound Sp??? to be paid by my Exors. when she comes to the Age of twenty one Years or Married & if she should Die before she comes to the Age of twenty One or Married then the above Bed and five pounds to return to my Estate & to be equally Divided between my foresaid Children or the Survivors of them. I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Tabitha Wrenn, Davis Day & Micajah Bidgood Exors of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal this 19th Day of January, 1786 Signed Sealed & Delivered in presence of } John Wrenn (Seal) Moss Shield John Mallory At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 20th Day of February 1786 This Will was presented in Court by Davis Day one of the Executors therein named who made Oath thereto According to Law and the same being proved by the Oath of John Mallory one of the Witnesses thereto & ordered to be Recorded. And on the Motion of the said Executor he together with William Mallory his Security entered into and Acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of two thousand pounds with condition as the Law directs Certificate is granted them for Claiming a probat thereof in due form & liberty is Reserved Tabitha Wrenn & Micajah Bidgood the other executors therein named to Qualify as such when they shall think fit within the Limits of the Law. And at a Court held for the said County the 6th day of July 1786 Tabitha Wrenn Widow Relict & Executrix & Micajah Bidgood Executor being the other Executors named in the said last Will and Testament of the said John Wrenn deceased took the Oath of Executors to the said Will & it is Ordered that they be Issued with Davis Day the Other Executor with Probat thereof -------- Test Francs Young DClC? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright.
