ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA - WILLS - Thomas Wrenn, 28 Oct 1797 ----¤¤¤---- In the name of God amen, I Thomas Wrenn of the County of Isle of Wight being sick and weak of Body of sound mind and disposing memory (for which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirious to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following that is to say ­ Item I give to my biloved Wife Mary Wrenn the Lands and Plantations wherein I now live for and during her natural life, and at her decease, I give and Bequeath the same to my Son Charles Wrenn, to be enjoyed by and his Heirs forever --- Item I give and Bequeath to my Son John Wrenn all my Lands and Plantations whereof I am possessed on James River (which Land I purchased of William Bidgood Thomas Miller and John Goodrich) to him and his Heirs forever and two Hundred pounds in cash, to be paid to him by the Executors when he arrives to the age of Twenty One Years --- Item my will and desire is that all the rest of my Estate real or Personal be Kept together on the premises until my Son John arrives to the age of Twenty One Years ­ that then in case neither my Wife, or either of my Sons h=shall have deceased, that the whole should be equally divided betweat the tice, Namely Mary, John and Charles Wrenn. Item Also my Will and Desire is that if my two Sons John and Charles Wrenn should decease before my Wife Mary Wrenn that then the Whole of my Estate both real and Personal of what nature or kind so ever, be equally divided amongst my Brothers and Sisters and Wifes Brothers and Sisters as also my will and desire is that at my Wifes death, all her part of my Estate then remaining in her hands be equally divided between my two Sons John and Charles Wrenn. And Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Joseph Wrenn and Armistard Valines Executors of this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all other or former Wills and testaments by me heretofore make. This Will was Presented in Court by Mary Wrenn Joseph Wrenn and Armistead Villines the Executrix and Executors therein Named who made Oath thereto According to law, and the same being Proved by the Oaths of Jesse Gray and Thomas Shelly two of the Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be recorded. ------ And on the motion of the said Executors who together with Joseph Carrell their Security entered into and acknowledged their Bond in the Penalty of twenty Thousand Dollars with Condition as the law Directs Certificate is granted them for obtaining Probat thereof in due form of Law ----------- Teste JJ Young Ck Isle of Wight Co.
