DURFEY purchases "Strawberry Fields" Whereas at the sale of the real estate of the late John M. MAUPIN made this 10th day of November 1851, under a decree pronounced in the suit of MAHONE vs. MAUPIN--(illegible), Wilson C. DURFEY purchased a tract or parcel thereof called "Strawberry Fields," lying in James City County containing about 335 acres at the price of Two thousand two hundred and fifty five dollars for which he gave his bond as by said decree directed, which said tract is the same that was in the lifetime of said MAUPIN, bought by him of Robert ANDERSON (??(illegible) as by covenant dated the 25th day of January 1850 and lies on a Road leading from Williamsburg to JamesTown the further description and boundaries are given and depicted in a copy of a Survey and Plot filed in the suit of DURFEY vs. BOWMAN in the Circuit Court of James City County and the City of Williamsburg and to which reference is here made: which said house as by decree directed have been paid off and discharged reports of which have been duly made and confirmed: and whereas by an order made in the said suit of MAHONE vs. MAUPIN on the 3rd day of July 1855. A deed conveying said purchase to said DURFEY with special warranty was directed and Robert H. ARMISTEAD was therein and thereby appointed a special Commissioner for said purpose: This deed therefore made this 19th day of July in the year 1855 between the said Robert H. ARMISTEAD special Commissioner as aforesaid and Wilson C. DURFEY, witnesseth that in consideration of the premises, the said ARMISTEAD doth grant unto the said DURFEY the said tract or parcel of land called "Strawberry Field," as above depicted with its appurtenances and the said ARMISTEAD doth covenant to and with the said DURFEY that he will warrant specially the property hereby conveyed. Witness the following signature and seal.______ Ro. H. ARMISTEAD, Special Com. (Seal) In James City County Clerk's office, July the 24th: 1855. This day the foregoing Indenture of bargain and sale was acknowledged before me, in the office aforesaid, by Robert H.
